Frustration with the US has been building up for some time now, and probably has very little to do with the film controversy. They’re incredibly angry with the US over civilian deaths in drone strikes and how the State Department handled the uprising, supporting a settlement that granted former president Ali Abdullah Saleh immunity from prosecution.

The tallest building in the world is, by definition, quite visible. So it makes some sense that the creators of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai were fastidious about the look of the tower—right down to the font faces in the parking garage. Austrialia’s Emerystudio, the firm designing the building’s wayfinding systems—the signage that directs visitors around the huge structure—wanted to employ Arabic typography that’d be distinctive, legible, and harmonious when placed next to Latin lettering. Now, the font created for the tower may be spreading to other parts of the fast-developing Middle East.

Kingdom denounces attacks, condemns movie disparaging Prophet Muhammad

The Kingdom “condemns the violent reactions in several countries against US interests,” an official source said.

Saudi Arabia also denounces “the production by an irresponsible group in the United States of a film insulting Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).”

 

UAE leads calls for restraint in region

The minister condemned the recent acts of violence which resulted in the killing of US Ambassador to Libya John Christopher Stevens, noting that the current unrest in some Arab countries is a reaction to the film insulting Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and will have impact on a wide range of regional political events.

He also called on the UN Security Council and its five permanent members to take all necessary procedures to protect all faiths from defamation so that acts of violence and extremism will not repeated as a reaction in the region.

Hundreds protest in front of US embassy in Kuwait – Kuwaiti clergymen ask MPs to leave

 KUWAIT: Hundreds of Kuwaiti citizens answered the call for a sit-in in front of the American embassy in Bayan yesterday in protest against a US-made movie that insults Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). The crowd chanted slogans against the heinous act and rejected the whole content of the movie. The security authorities placed barricades around the embassy to keep the crowd from reaching the embassy gates.
