Dr. Amir Azar is a recognized authority in energy finance, commodities, and quantitative trading. He is best known for his influential 2017 paper, ReserveBased Lending and the Outlook for Shale Oil and Gas Finance, which has been cited by The Wall Street Journal, Federal Reserve Bank of United States, and leading industry studies. Dr. Azar is the Founder and CEO of AgentixEdge and Principal at Quantum Horizon Capital (QHC), a CFTC-registered commodity trading firm. He earned a Ph.D. in Engineering with a focus on Satellite Data Analytics and Algorithmic Forecasting using Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) from The City University of New York and holds a Master’s degree in International Finance from Columbia University (SIPA). His academic background laid the foundation for a career at the intersection of energy markets, quantitative modeling, and structured finance. Prior to founding AgentixEdge and QHC, Dr. Azar held Vice President and Assistant Vice President roles in Energy Finance at KPMG (5 years), SMBC (5 years), and TD (2.5 years), where he built and enhanced risk-management models and advised on large-scale energy-focused structured transactions.
