Although, Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and all the cabinet ministers, except the interior minister, arrived at the assembly building, only five of them came to the chamber. They immediately left the building after the session was adjourned. The session was boycotted by both opposition MPs who consider the revived assembly as illegitimate and pro-government MPs who are upset because the government plans to dissolve the assembly and call for polls.

The gunmen had served in the ranks of the Yemeni police when it was led by Mohamed Abdullah al-Qawsi during Saleh’s rule, security officials said. Qawsi had promised to enrol them officially before President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi sacked him in May.
The gunmen stormed the ministry on Sunday and held a sit-in before setting a two-day ultimatum for officials to meet their demands, which include compensation payments as well as being taken on officially.

The UAE Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FNAR), on July 18, granted the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) a licence to construct a multi-billion dollar project for two nuclear power reactor units (1 and 2) at its proposed Barakah site in the Western Region of the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

By 2020, demand for power will grow threefold on current levels. This justifies turning to nuclear energy to generate power to meet the expected growth in demand.
