Saudi Arabia urged to reopen embassy in Yemen

To protests against the closure of the embassy, many pilgrims, tourism agencies arranged tow sit-in in front of of Hadi’s house. Some of the protesters the pilgrimage attire as to show there are keen to perform Umrah. The protesters said that they denounced the abduction of the Saudi diplomat and urged the kingdom not to “collectively punish them for Al Qaida’s mistake.”

Opposition plans to postpone meetings – Elections amendments a lure to convene 2009 parliament?

KUWAIT: Rumors linking the government with potential plans to adjust the voting mechanism ahead of the impending elections could be an incentive to lure a majority in the 2009 parliament to attend a session in which the new cabinet is sworn in, before a draft law for the proposed amendment can be discussed. This speculation was disclosed by sources close to the opposition who vehemently reject an idea to drop the number of votes a Kuwaiti voter has from four to two.

Wahaibi condemned Israeli actions and violations against Palestinian and Arab detainees and captives. He called for an immediate halt of administrative detention and solitary confinement, and held Israel fully responsible for the safety and lives of all captives and detainees.

Wahaibi called on the UN and other regional and international organisations, as well as the international community “to bear their responsibilities towards this issue as per provisions of international law.”
