His Excellency Dr. Elkalani A. Alsalim was nominated by Prime Minister Ali Zeidan to be Libya's Minister of Finance on October 14, 2012, and was seated on November 14, 2012.
He previously served as a Professor in Economics and Commerce at Benghazi University and has more than 15 years of experience in banking and finance.
Dr. Alsalim received his B.A. in Economics and Commerce from Benghazi University, his Master's Degree from the University of Arizona, and his PhD from Hull University (UK).
